End of the year

So I have now been teaching middle school for two years now. When I got the job, I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into, becuase I Never wanted to teach middle school. They are at a wierd age and wasn't sure if I could handle it since I have only taught elementary prior to this job. Sad to say, but I am sad that tomorrow is our last day of school and I know I will miss them after only a few days away from them.

Though my students are known to be bad and disrespectful, me and a couple teachers were talking about individual students and know they jsut act this way. Many of the students have such a caring side that some teachers do not choose to see. Even though I may complian about them from time to time they are good kids, and we have to remember they are just that.....kids. One kind in particular really gets to me every time I see him. Earlier in the year this kid hit me in the face, while trying to get at another, but when I stepped in to stop it he ended up hitting me. For a while I didn't want to be near him, but after a while I began to joke around with him and just say hi in the morning. As he was leaving school today he came up gave me a hug and said he is going ot miss me. Is it because I showed him that I still cared and that's not something he normally sees? I am not sure.

After tomorrow I won't see my kids again until August, but I hope that they stay safe and active over the summer months. I also hope they mature a bit over the summer (probably wont happen but we can hope).

I hope you are having a good day

Long Week

This past week has been wonderful.....but very long and tiring.

Monday and Tuesday I started tutoring some kids from my school. It is going to be a very rewarding job for me to work with these few students and to give them the indiviudal attention they are craving. :-) Plus it's great money in addition to what I am making as a teacher. :-) Also Monday and Tuesday we had to stay late and was able to get to know so of my teachers better. When we heard it was time to sign out....me and a couple other teachers started running down the hall (like the kids would do) so we could be one of the first to sign out. It was funny. Some of the other teachers in that hallway were laughing at us. :-)

I was planning on doing some more shopping during the week, but it didn't seem to work out as planned. Wednesday I was helping out with church in wrapping presents for people in the mall. It was a lot of fun, but I feel the year before we got to wrap a lot more presents or that we were there longer. Kevin came by to see me while I was there and we took a little walk around the mall. What a blessing he is to me. WHen I got home I eneded up having a migraine. Yuck! It didn't go away until 4:30am....and I get up at 5. So I went to work Thursday tired, but no one noticed. :-) I also had to get observed by my assistant principal on Thursday as well. People kept coming in to interrupt her, which I found to be quite rude (they were not emergency situations either).

I also stayed to help out with the basketball game as well. My students are great. We won both games which was a blessing as well. We didn't play well....but we at least played better than the other team. haha.

Saturday I went to Kohls because I needed to buy a few things for myself and I ended up getting some great deals!!!

I am happy for a Sunday though because I will have time to spend with Kevin as long as i get my area cleaned. haha. Yes I still have chores at home. :-) Especially with my mom having a party here on Tuesday.

Bryan....email me....I wanted to get your address over there. Let me know.

Love you all

What a wonderful week off of work!!!

My week of a vacation was much needed after the week I had prior to Thanksgiving (Fall) Break. Thursday was a good Thanksgiving....wonderful turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie (x2), ice cream. It was great food and good company.

Friday, my mom and I treked out to Walmart at 445am to get a good deal on some flash drives...yes I did say flash drives...They had 4.0 flash drives for $9. What a great deal. We bought 4 of them, and then we also ran across 2GB camera cards for $7. But we also went shopping after that as well and spent most of the day out and about.

Saturday we spend a little bit of the day also shopping, and I am almost finished with ALL of my shopping. Just a few more things to buy and it will be all done!! Thank God! I then went over to Kevin's and spent a little time with him watching a movie. Captivity is a freaky movie ( I don't typically watch horror movies). I got ready to leave and didn't see my purse in the house...I thought I just left it in the car. I didn't check my car until I got home and....no purse. Somebody in the neighborhood stole my purse out of the car. :-( I do know this because they found my purse with all my stuff still in it. I didn't have any cash in it, which was a good thing, because it would have been GONE!! The police of Woodbury called me this morning to tell me they got it. Apparently, this man tried to break into a truck down the street (a cop's house) but didn't get anything so he went down the street and cut through an opening between the two houses. Noticing no money he chucked the purse under a porch and took off. I am just thankful I got it back. (that was sunday)

Back to work tomorrow, not sure if I am ready to go back, but not too many weeks before we have Christmas break. I can't wait.

What is it for?

Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday to celebrate. During our lunch today we had a little discussion that I didn't typically think about prior to our conversation of what Thanksgiving was really set aside for. Yes everyone says it is a day of giving thanks for what we have, but the orgination of the holiday was not just by the pilgrims and the indians about finding a new place to settle, but it was declared a national holiday in the 1940s. We also had the discussion of why we shouldn't call it "Turkey Day" Americans are so into themselves and what they want, think about if you didn't have a special day set aside just to give thanks for all that you have and don't forget where it all came from. Our Lord. Do you want your next breathe.....then thank HIM for your current breathe and thank him for all the good and bad to come in your life. HE is behind it all. You may not know now, but something you may seem as bad may be here to prepare you for something better or for you to help someone else in need down the road.

What do I have to be thankful for?

Everything honestly...I am thankful for my family, my relationships with my friends and family, my job, my health, my surrounding, the ability to have a good friendship with Adrian without it feeling akward, for my current relationship with Kevin.

Over all I had a lovely Thanksgiving, with my family and my father's co-worker from Manila. He had a lot to tell us about his country and would be a great place to check out.....How is it Bryan?

Here are a few pictures of my hike yesterday...Nature's beauty at it's best....

A day of Beauty

Nature is absolutely wonderful. Sometime you go through life in such a fast motion that you do not stop to look at the beauty.

Today Kevin and I took a nice day hike at Burgess Falls. I went there over the summer with my sister and another friend of ours, but today it was different. As we were walking we stopped and wondered how some of the trees grew our of rocks, or how one tree in particular had a large piece of metal stuck in it. Is it just trash thrown in the park and the tree has no where to go but around it?

We sat at one location (the middle of the falls) for a great length of time just to admire the beauty of what was going on and to look at the different aspects of the falls. The calmness....the rough waters...the coldness of the waters as it turned into ice (it was 55 degrees)..the ways the water changed direction due to certain areas not giving into erosion (I think that is how you spell it)

If I figure out how to post pictures I will post a few later. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.....and yes Bryan I will have some turkey for you!!!

What a day!!!

The first day of my week long vacation...so did not start off as a vacation. I woke up this morning about 7:30 and decided I didn't have to be anywhere for a while, so I went back to sleep....only to wake up at 8:45 realizing I had to be at the Chiropractor at 10. This did not leave me much time for getting ready.I totally forgot about it. So did that and then Mom and I went to get her a chest X-Ray (she thinks she fractured or broke a rib).

We decided after this to do some scrapbooking....something neither of us have done for quite some time. My reasoning would have to be quite different from hers. The last spread that I started was from my vacation to Texas in March (the last time I saw Adrian). I had gotten home from the trip and began the spread, but decided I needed to stop, because I was no longer motivated. (Reason being that I didn't know if I wanted to keep him in the book or take him out -- for my mental health at the time). It was not the fact that I am mad at him -- because I am not. We are actually talking again -- as friends. Something that some don't agree with and not really sure how to help them understand that Adrian and I have a lot longer history as friends than we did in a relationship. If you have any suggestions --- please let me know. But I ended up getting three spreads done today from a couple Christmas' ago. I just need motivation to be able to get more done of things that have happened since I moved here.

While we were scrapbooking my mom asked me to let Zoe outside to go potty (out the front)...well she decided to take off running down the street, because she saw a lady walking her two dogs. Zoe would not listen to me calling her to come back and ended up right at the dogs -- which growled and then one of the dogs bit her on her hind end. Maybe next time she won't go off and not listen. *Shrugs* who knows. We didn't find an open wound until this evening when she was laying on the bed.

It was an interesting day to say the least. Tomorrow off to the Predators game vs the Blues. We are taking my dad's trainee, Rohel (sp?) from Manilia, to see a hockey game. It's strange to see someone from another country come here and be so amazed at some of the things we see as normal. He has taken over 300 pictures so far, and it is strange to see what he thinks is important enough to have as a reminder. But it makes you realize that the little things in life are so important.

Rough and Tough

"To Whom It May Concern" -- I know it is an odd title to a blog. My thoughts as I came up with it, is that I am a very random person (at times) and I love to write letters, though many people now do not sit and write letters and send them through snail mail. How sad is that. (So anyways since I ALREADY got off topic you can see why I chose this title and how most of my posts will be -- random.

For those of you who I do not talk to on a regular basis -- which would be most of you. I am working at a middle school out in Nashville. People say that my school is a roughy, toughie school, and yes on days -- like today -- I would have to say I agree. But most days they aren't any worse than any other middle schoolers.

One more day until a week break for Thanksgiving! Much needed. I am in need of relaxation. :-) Not too sure what I will be doing over the next week, but I will try to update this with some tidbits of what I am doing from time to time.

ENJOY!!
